Our Caregivers
Our caregivers are the "cream of the crop." The characteristics you can expect from our caregivers are:
The desire to be of service
A track record of dependability
Experience working with the elderly and others with disabilities
Professional appearance
The ability to communicate clearly in English
Clean criminal and driving record
We have very high standards when it comes to hiring. A company owner interviews every prospective caregiver. Candidates must be able to provide positive professional references and pass a criminal background check. In addition, they must be cleared through the State of New Hampshire registry of child and adult abusers. Our caregivers are people we would trust to care for our own family members.
Our caregivers are the heart and soul of our company. Our caregivers offer a level of support and interaction that helps people remain engaged in life, reducing their feelings of isolation and encouraging activities that stimulate thinking and promote physical well-being Judging by the number of letters of commendation our agency has received, we are justifiably proud of the work they perform for our clients.
Note: Through the assessment process we do our best to ensure a great match between caregiver and client. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the caregiver assigned to you, please let us know.
Our employees are covered by worker's compensation and state unemployment. Payroll and all government related taxes are withheld and paid by the company.
Caregiver Training
Many of our caregivers are state licensed as Nurses Aides. This means they have passed a state accredited curriculum for providing health care to the public. This degree of training is critical for our clients that require higher levels of care and monitoring.
Living at Home SeniorCare offers our caregivers the opportunity to advance their skills through the Certified Companion Aide (CCA) program. Developed by "The Senior's Choice," CCA is a 19-module program that covers important aspects of the aging process and geriatric health. Topics covered include Infection Control and Standard Precautions, Safety and Body Mechanics, and Providing Personal Care. To acquire the designation of "Certified Companion Aide," each caregiver must pass all 19 modules. Living at Home SeniorCare is the only agency in New Hampshire that provides this unique training program.
Initial and refresher training is provided in Alzheimer's care, body mechanics, and infection control. Every caregiver is sent bi-weekly written communications that include articles related to senior care, company policies, and words of encouragement.
Our training programs provide our caregivers with the information and skills needed to perform care tasks at a high level while also inspiring compassion and empathy for those they serve.
Our Nurses
Under the leadership of Client Services Director Theresa Williams and Home Nurse Manager Janet Gaynor, our team of skilled nurses provides oversight and expertise to our caregivers and the people we care for. They perform initial assessments and prepare the care plan for each client. Periodic phone calls and visits to our clients ensure that the care remains appropriate and that any changes in medical condition or medications are updated in the care plan. They communicate with the client's primary care physician about the care we are providing. Family members and patients alike are always welcome to call our nurses for non-emergency medical issues.
Living at Home SeniorCare views skilled nursing as a vital component of the services we provide.
Living at Home SeniorCare is locally owned and operated.
